Hosted by the Haida Sails Resurgence Project in partnership with Swiilawiid Sustainability Society, the gathering brought together approximately 90 people from across the Pacific and Haida Gwaii, including teachers, knowledge holders, navigators, weavers, sailors, artists, and community members. What began through the relationships built around the Haida Sails Resurgence Project grew into something much larger: an opportunity to honour the people who have carried these teachings forward, reconnect across the Pacific, and strengthen the relationships that will carry them into the future.

Throughout the weekend, we shared stories and teachings around sailing, navigation, weaving, fire, land and water, while reflecting on the challenges our communities face and the ways Indigenous knowledge and relationships continue to guide us toward resilience. There was time for learning and listening, but also for laughter, food, weaving, visiting, and simply being together.

The gathering reminded us that resurgence is not something we do alone. It lives in our relationships—with our teachers, our communities, our lands and waters, and with one another. We are deeply grateful to everyone who travelled, shared, listened, taught, cooked, helped, and made space for this gathering to happen.
